This is the album I started in 1999 and completed in 2001. It was originally supposed to be for a tape label called L.S.D.Org, run by a man named Jonathan Kan. Unfortunately, Jonathan appears to have dropped off the face of the Earth. I eventually had to track him down by doing a whois lookup on his domain name and calling him at his house. My impression of him is of a fan of dark noise music who ended up in waters that were way over his head.

Because it was "commissioned" by Jonathan, who is a CMI junkie, the album is more artsy and has more of a "death industrial" influence than the music I normally do. The album's structure is inspired by the triptych paintings of Otto Dix and Heironymous Bosch. It was created for a double-sided format; each side is divided into three sections, the middle being twice as long as the first and last, representing the triptych panels. The middle section is itself divided into three parts (these three being equal in length). Each side is a mirror image of the other. The triptych format was used frequently in religious artwork, due to its structural connection with the holy trinity, and the music reflects this leaning.

The album's philosophical content, on the other hand, is a condemnation of the victim mentality inherent in the religious view of "evil" acts, and the cycle of violence that invariably results from it. The first side represents the life journey of a person who starts out being abused, finds release and sexual enjoyment out of violence and murder, and eventually ends up being caught. The second side represents the victims and the people who act in their name, who eventually become even more callous and violent than the offender in their quest for retribution.

I wrote and scored all the classical music myself. The noise parts were mostly from instruments I created in Reaktor, although my destroyed turntable and ripped-out spring reverb also make appearances.
